Merry Christmas to all!!!! We had an awesome day..we went Jerrys parents (Randy and Linda) early afternoon had some fun there and then finished up by having dinner at my Moms.

Sorry It took so long to update but I couldn't update until after Christmas because the Rooster picture was a gift. Jerry made the frame with a honey blonde finish and I did the mosaic. I will have to admit Jerry cut and glued quite a bit of the background for me, which is honestly the part that takes the longest. I as usual stressed over the grout color, and we (Jer and I) finally decided on the brown which we custom mixed. (white grout w/ liquid brown color added bit by bit) Jerry also helped me with the grouting and cleaning of the grout. He has become my right hand in this whole process!!!! Couldn't do it without him.

After I got the Rooster picture done I got a case of the "I need to do something else" syndrome and made this "Man and beast" mirror mosaic in one afternoon on a rock. When I need a quick mosaic fix these work well ( the rocks) you mosaic one day grout the next. The mirror tile is a dusty rose color w/ a grey grout.

If you have been on Mitchells blog you would have seen the mosaic Ipod I did for Mitchell...that was pretty fun..it also was a quick fix project.

Everyone have a wonderful and safe new year.....I loved all my presents...and the company!!!!

Many blessings...

Beautiful rooster and I love your clean cut curves, fab colours. How did you get the curves to precise. We have a grinding machine but haven't perfected it as you have.

Oh and by the way, did you see the tip from the Garden Web mosaic section about colour-washing after grouting to get any colour you want with watered-down acrylic paint. Really really useful, as we too agonise over grouts. We can get terracotta, black, beige, green and white here.

ladyluz- I did see the tip on color washing after grouting..I think I even clipped it..thank you for the thought I have used that tip on my crash glass tin (which I haven't put on my blog yet..my bad!!). On the curves I have to say I must just get lucky with my glass cutter...and have lots of practice with the grinder. If you have looked at my past post and saw the mermaid (febuary 06 archive)- her hair can only be cut like that with a ring saw.

Thanks for that Donna. A ring saw, hmm, will have to go hunting.

Glad you enjoyed the visit with me - I have left comments for you there.
